Mia Bergeron Live Webcast 06-19-10 Registration

We are very excited to offer the next in our webcast series - featuring Mia Bergeron! Join us for this unique opportunity to watch/participate in a 5 hour demonstration of a portrait from life - Start-to-finish!

For this particular demonstration, Mia will take questions and explain how she sets-up, begins, works though, and finally finishes a portrait from life. In her typical good humor and clarity, she hopes to show people how much fun painting from life can be, and how much useful information is available when looking at nature.

If you live in Chattanooga, or in the neighborhood - GO SEE MIA in person! She’s painting at Art Warehouse, at 3260 Brainerd Road.

This event has been completed, but the recording is available for viewing for $15 usd.

About Mia:
2708881For the past four years, Mia Bergeron has been pursuing her painting professionally in Chattanooga, TN. Previous to her move to the South, Mia studied and taught at the Charles H. Cecil Studio in Florence, Italy. Studying classical painting techniques, she painted for 8 hours a day from life exclusively. It is from this experience of painting from life that Mia credits to her love of paint.

A native New Yorker by birth, she was surrounded by art of all kinds at an early age. Although Mia is primarily a figurative painter, she sees the visual world as a series of abstractions to be conveyed in paint.

alvaro-exampleRecently, Mia was told that she will be published as one of the Top 21 Artists Under 31 Years Old competition by Southwest Art magazine. She was also featured in American Artist Magazine as one of the finalist 2007 Cover Competition winners, and also as Artist of the Month by American Artist Magazine online. This past march she was admitted as one of Portraits Inc.’s newest and youngest artists.

In 2009, Mia was awarded a MakeWork grant by a Chattanooga-based non-profit called CreateHere to paint the portraits of individuals throughout the Chattanooga area, in hopes of using portraiture as a means of social awareness. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Tennessee, as well as private workshops.
