WORKSHOP/DEMO - ALLA PRIMA FROM LIFE 05/10
Description: Please join me for an online painting demonstration/workshop working on alla prima methods for the still life, from life. All participants are invited to paint along with artist Lisa Gloria as she demonstrates step by step the techniques used to bring a painting forth in a single session - “alla prima,” or “au premier coup.”
Each step will be explained, including composing the still life, laying out the drawing, pre-mixing the palette, applying each layer, modeling and blending, and finishing the painting. Techniques specific to the alla prima method will be discussed, including strategies for selecting good compositions, making every stroke do double-duty, keeping the surface mud-free, and knowing when you’re done. A copy of the entire workshop will be available for your continued use. Participants may choose to watch the demonstration and paint afterwards, because alla prima can sometimes move along at a swift pace, and there is not a lot of room for backtracking. PLEASE NOTE: because this will be a demonstration from life, there will not be a photo reference to share.
Registration for this workshop is now open. The fee is $39US.
When - Saturday May 22, 10:00am to 4:00 pm CST with breaks each hour and 1/2 hour for lunch. My time zone is USA, Illinois, Chicago, GMT -6. Click here to convert the time zone.

Can’t attend but would love to see it as a video, afterward.
same here-would love to purchase a video afterwards.
Cool! The video should be up by the end of the week. We have a new software and hosting system for vids that’s really snazzy. You won’t be able to chat or get critique though.
